Long Island's Self-Serve Stands

Long Island has great self-serve stands throughout Nassau County and Suffolk County all the way to the East End, run by family-owned businesses and built on local community.

Long Island’s Self-Serve Stands

One of my favorite things I’ve discovered lately is Long Island’s self-serve stands.

There’s something so refreshing about pulling over, grabbing a loaf of bread, fresh flowers, oysters, eggs, or baked goods, and leaving payment in a box or through Venmo. No cashier. No line. Just local businesses, great products, and a little trust.

A few of my favorites are Soulstead Stand in Patchogue, Three Little Loaves in Massapequa, and Gi’s Sweets.

You can also stop by Marilee’s Farm Stand, Goodale Farms, Browder’s Birds, Deep Roots Farm, Iacono Farm, and Mecox Bay Dairy.

The things that make people fall in love with a town are often the little things. The local farm stand. The family-owned bakery. The roadside flower stand. The oyster farm down the road. These are the places that give a community its character and make it feel like home.
